  In the last few months, through the chaos in the news regarding the War in Ukraine, the threat of Climate Change, the uncertainty around the world regarding life post Covid, my thoughts have been directed to the idea of Emergence. How can we start over? What is the cause and effect of trauma, chaos and uncertainty? What emerges and what is born thereafter as a consequence of it ? How can we give birth to new ideas, new ways of thinking and a renewed existence of hope and growth.  How can we emerge better and stronger.   Like in reversible figures, understanding is a three edged sword as there are two sides to any story and what emerges from it. What emerges first and what is born thereafter? ...... Hence, my painting Emergence was born. The questions above still remain unanswered fully but I hope my painting can shed light on one thing which remains,   we must adapt , adjust and refocus our lives  and energy on what truly matters.  Women's Month Exhibition titled "Breaking the Bias Value Our Differences"   started 1 June to 31 June  Thursday - Sunday 10 am  - 7 pm  @ UM Gallery, First Floor, The Waterfront Karen, Nairobi It was a Celebration of the Uniqueness, Beauty , Essence of Women and their role in community and society !   The title of the exhibition speaks for itself. Artworks were on display that expressed Artists interpretation of breaking the bias around gender equality, womens rights, women at work, societal bias of women.  While creating my own artworks, I contemplated on the idea of the multi-faceted nature of The Woman figure. The same woman who can keep a child in her belly for 9 months, can be a housewife a CEO or anything she wants to be.   On 11 February began my first group exhibition ever in Germany !.  I was pleasantly surprised and honoured to receive an email from the owner of the Gallery , Marion Zimmermann who contacted me last year asking me to be part of this year's showing of Artist Exhibition at her Gallery. It was exciting for me to receive such an email in my inbox ! The group exhibition of Various International Artists takes place from 11 February to 9 March this year.  Happy to be part of it ! 😀

Where flowers are blooming there is hope for a better tomorrow, hope for humanity, hope for life. Life is like that Flower, Water it and Show it Light and it will Bloom, Ignore it and it will fade away.  I was inspired by flowers that were given as a gift to me in January.  I found the flowers colourfully  intricate, resilient yet delicate at the same time.  They reminded me of the delicacy of life and just as a Flower grows from a seed  and blooms if watered well and provided with Light, it remind me that wherever we put our energy and attention will blossom and bloom !. ...Life is precious, it moves faster than we think and so if we put our energy and thought in what we love , our life will take a beautiful colour and bloom with joy. As 2021 comes to a close and we usher in a new year, this is a time when we reflect on the year, our progress and goals.  I can say I have been able to achieve the goals I had set for 2021 and I'm looking forward to 2022. The last few months of 2021 took a different turn for me in my art journey for the better.   In the last few months my love for Watercolour has grown. It was after many years that I have began working with Watercolour paints again. I wanted to challenge myself in rediscovering this medium and it has been a great exploration into a medium that I once used to enjoy.  There is so much one can do with Watercolour. Its certainly more versatile than I originally thought and has given me a new way of approaching my colour choice and mixing.  Yes, the drying time is faster than oils, colour mixing can be done on the paper/ surface itself  but one has to establish a clear picture of the idea, process and steps to take to ensure the painting provides the desired result.  He
