Visiting Lake Elementaita....

To wrap up the year....As a family we travelled to Lake Elementaita- a salt water lake in the  Great Rift Valley...a real spectacular site with a host of rare bird species & wildlife. While experiencing the serenity that this World Heritage Site had to offer we also had the chance to take a game drive to see the animals themselves.  We can accross a unique structure embedded in the hills - called the Sleeping Warrior - which actually turned out to be the hills in the shape of a sleeping Warrior.  It was quite a unique and interesting site. The game drive brought with it its own adventure.... After spotting zebra, gazelle, waterbuck, buffalo and also impala...we were all eager to see any of big cats...and to our extremely pleasant surprise we can accross three lioness sitting on the roadside. The drive turned out to be better than we expected. After the drive it was time for some sketching....  And coincidentally the camp we stayed at offered painting lessons....
