International Jazz Day 2017

In less than a month, on 30 April we will be celebrating the International Jazz Day.... a day that brings together comunities, artists, academics, jazz lovers, historians, cultural and social entrepeneurs together to celebrate and learn about the value of Jazz its impact and tradition.
It is a day dedicated to promoting intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding and international communication, respect for diversity and human rights as well as promoting freedom of expression , gender equality and social change.

In November 2011, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) officially designated April 30 as International Jazz Day to  highlight jazz and its role of uniting people in all corners of the globe. International Jazz Day is chaired and led by Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director General, and legendary jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock, who is a UNESCO Ambassador for Intercultural Dialogue and Chairman of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. .'http://jazzday.com/
