Living with Covid & Surviving it with Abstract...

First piece of 2021 - New beginning - acrylic on canvas - Jan 2021

It is the 2021 and we are still living with Covid- 19.

Hope is never lost..this is not the end..just a passage to the other side.We shall triumph over all odds and come out stronger on the other side.

Hope is in the sound the of bird that wakes me every morning to remind me of a new day despite the night being cruel and taking her child away.

Hope is in the flight of the bird that departs from her nest in the morning leaving her chicks behind as she forages for food.Hope is in the freedom.

Freedom in abstract :

When making an abstract painting, it is setting  yourself free however knowing where to start when to call it finished and understanding every delicate stage and layer in.between ! When we think of Abstract Art, it seems like they are no rules, just throw the brush around on canvas or paper and voulah! you have a abstract! But it is no where near that.

There are methods, boundaries and techniques...by knowing them you can work around them, while letting your intuition and emotion/ feelings / mood guide you !

For me, abstract space allows me to delve deeper into my own emotional state be an observer and listener of those emotions and then apply them to my work by exploring shapes, colours, intersections of space and allowing my ideas to be visualised. I have never viewed abstract art as easy or difficult but always an opportunity to try something new create something new keep learning! From every piece I make I learn something new about myself, about my tools and my method. And I have never wanted the viewer to see exactly what I see in it but allow them freedom to explore what they see and make of it!

As guests and visitors trickled in, they had the chance to view art, walk around stands, meet with the artists and interact too! while relaxing with some bitings and music playing in the background!..... The Art was on display from 10 am to 6 pm and entry was free! Watch out for more events coming soon ! .....
